Frequently asked questions regarding Eyelash Extensions & Lash Fills!
Eyelash extensions (synthetic silk and synthetic mink) are made from synthetic fibres called PBT (polybutylene-terephthalate). The features that differentiate silk and mink from each other are the way they are tapered (becoming gradually narrower towards the tip of the lash), their weight, and their finish. Silk is less tapered, lightweight, with a glossier finish; whilst mink lashes are more tapered, very lightweight, with a matte finish.
Not at all! Eyelash extensions should always be applied taking special care to ensure that they are all applied individually and correctly to maintain your eyelash health. An eyelash extension sheds when your natural lash sheds, and so long as an appropriate weight extension has been applied, your natural lashes will grow through as normal.
Eyelash extensions last anywhere from 2-3 weeks depending upon how well they are cared for and what your natural lash shed/growth cycle is. The average person loses anywhere between 2-5 natural lashes per day, which is why fills are required during a particular time frame. A full lash shed takes around 12 weeks to fully replace a lash, so by 6-8 weeks you may still have a few lash extensions remaining waiting to fall out naturally.
No, not at all! the procedure is completely safe and painless.
After prepping your lashes and applying comfortable under eye pads for protection of the bottom lashes, your eyes will remain closed for the application. It is a very relaxing, non-invasive treatment and most of our clients take the time to catch up on their beauty sleep!
Depending on what look you’re hoping to achieve, application usually takes around 1.5- 2hours for a classic fullest, whilst a fullest of volume can take around 3 hours. Fills range from 45 minutes- 2 hours.
